How to achieve the best results in the treatment of malignant diseases?
The treatment of malignant diseases (cancer) in developed countries has changed significantly in the last 20 years, and the results of treatment have been drastically improved. All this can be attributed to the so-called precision medicine, where each patient is treated in a personalized way. In practice, this means that before the start of the therapy, a genetic profile of the tumor is made and the therapy that has the highest chance of success is applied, instead of (as was the practice before) all patients with a tumor of the same organ or tissue being treated the same way.
Our team is a pioneer of personalized medicine in Croatia, and we are focused on these new forms of treatment that, on the one hand, enable high treatment success, and on the other, reduce the risk of side effects. In addition to the standard forms of treatment that we implement (chemotherapy, hormone therapy, etc.), which are also suitable for certain patients, we prefer the use of immunotherapy or targeted therapy whenever possible.
